Current Funding Priorities

Where your donation goes and how we decide.

GAWF allocates funding across active partner projects and an emergency reserve, based on where the need is greatest at any given time. This page is updated as priorities change.

How We Allocate

You trust us with the decision. Here's exactly how we make it.

Your donation joins a pool of ready funding, allocated by our volunteer committee to where it's needed most.

You don't choose a specific project. That's intentional — emergencies can't wait for a campaign, and the need on the ground changes faster than any donor can predict. Our committee moves when the need is real.

Active project

Budaka Oxen Rescue & Rehabilitation Initiative (BORRI)

When a working ox slows down in Budaka, farmers don't rest them. They hurt them. BORRI is on the ground to pull these animals out of that cycle — and make sure they don't go back.

Where the funding goes

  • $20,000 Veterinary rescue & medical care
  • $12,500 Sanctuary rehabilitation & feed
  • $10,000 Community education & training

Veterinary clinic completion

Sneha's Care has been on the frontlines in Nepal for years — rescuing, treating, refusing to look away. A fuel crisis pushed construction costs beyond reach. The clinic is metres from done. $10,000 more finishes it for good.

Where the funding goes

  • $10,000 Already funded by GAWF
  • $10,000 Remaining construction & completion costs

"The clinic walls are up. The support from GAWF has brought us further than we could have managed alone — and we're closer than ever to finishing what we started."

Emergency reserve

Funding ready for urgent rescue situations.

GAWF maintains reserve funding so vetted partners can receive support immediately when unexpected emergencies arise.

Rapid response capability for future emergencies, disaster response, urgent rescues, and critical animal welfare needs.

The Allocation Process

How our volunteer committee decides where funding goes.

Every request is assessed on urgency, impact, partner trust, and available funds.

There's no formula — just informed judgment from people close to the work, moving as quickly as the need demands.

Proof, Not Promises

Every allocation is public. No exceptions.

When funding is directed to a partner, we publish it — which organisation, what purpose, what amount, what outcome. You can see every allocation we've ever made.
